Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) represent one of the most important economic multipliers in any growing economy. Despite the valuable contribution to the country’s economy in terms of sizeable share in production, employment generation and GDP, it has not been getting adequate and timely credit.
A major pre-requisite for a vibrant and fast growing SME sector and its access to finance is taking into consideration the various stakeholders (enterprise value chain represented by SMEs as well as larger and smaller size businesses, financial institutions, relevant government entities, donor agencies, NGOs, chambers of commerce, etc.) that can contribute to developing a more conducive environment for the success of the SMEs sector.
Building new regulations, financial inclusion programs, credit guarantee schemes, SME good governance, Small and Medium companies exchange market, financial mediation mechanisms, in addition to other complementary activities.
